About Sabrina
Sabrina McTaggart is a career coach who specializes in working with young adults to help ensure they make a successful transition from education to employment, and get started on the path towards longer-term career fulfilment. This typically involves helping 15-18 year olds navigate the journey from high school to the right post-secondary program. It can also involve helping 19–24-year-olds make adjustments or transitions after graduating from high school.
Sabrina is based in Ottawa, Canada.
Approach
Sabrina recognizes the enormous potential and inherent gifts in each young adult. By working collaboratively with them, she’s able to help put together the pieces of their own unique puzzle, as they make important career-related decisions that will profoundly shape their future.

With high-school aged clients, parents are required to attend and observe each session. This ensures that parents – the people that care most about their child’s well-being – have full visibility into the process and can better support their young adult along this journey. This ultimately leads to better outcomes.

Although parent attendance is not required for clients that are in their 20’s, it may be beneficial depending on the client’s situation.
Experience
Over the past 20 years, Sabrina has worked with over 500 young adults, helping them successfully answer the question “What’s next?”.
Her own career path has helped equip Sabrina with the insights, empathy and experience necessary to ensure positive coaching outcomes. Although she recognized that she was in the wrong field of study in her first year of university, she was apprehensive about making a change.

After graduating with a B.Sc. in Life Sciences from Queen’s University, Sabrina worked in the pharmaceutical industry, and finally took ownership of her future by taking a course in career planning. Her “eureka moment” came when she realized that her skills, interests, passions and experiences all aligned around this very field.
Education
Sabrina has a Master’s in Education (M.Ed., Counselling) from the University of Ottawa, and has worked closely with over 500 young adults over the past 20 years, including her own two sons (now in their early 30’s), and helped them work through the process to ensure that their initial career-related steps are appropriate and made with confidence.

Sabrina’s other passions include family and friends, reading, running, skiing, gardening and cooking.
